10 Fun Facts About My Friend Allie :

1. In 9th grade, we wore the same dress to a school dance. I looked like I rolled in and out of a Hot Topic and whatever stuck to me is what I wore to the dance. Allie wore it in a very classy, cool, Jennifer Aniston kind of way. "Hey, nice dress !" Were the first words she ever spoke to me.

2. In 10th grade, we sat next to each other in Spanish class. I couldn't believe how casually comfortable she was talking to the most popular guy in ou ... r grade, who sat in front of us. I was practically mute, but she could joke around and be friendly and I felt COOL sitting next to someone who could do that!

Soon we were joking around during class and that growing friendship spilled out into the hallways during passing time and after school, to her house where we spent hours lying on the floor asking aloud, "What should we do?" (being a teenager is so BORING) and downloading songs on Kazaa in her basement. one shoulder tight homecoming dress

3 . At our wedding , my husband was accidentally in a different area of the venue for the first 15 seconds or so of our first-dance song. Allie came out to join me where I was standing on the dance floor and danced with me. Appropriate. :)

Also at the wedding , because of the way that our ceremony venue was set up and how the wedding party was arranged, she's photographed in the center of 90% of our wedding vow photos. Also appropriate. :)

4 . Allie's process for picking out a pair of jeans at Gap is so intricate and impressive, you really have to witness it to appreciate it (or not appreciate it because you're tired and want to leave the mall ;) ) The strategy is to choose 2- 3 pairs of the SAME jeans in the SAME size and then put them all on and compare because SOMETIMES there's a slight difference in length , and you want to be sure you're getting the best ones! # tallgirlproblems

5. Allie is always concerned about my water intake. She once brought a case of bottled water and a bouquet of flowers to my house because I mentioned that I'd been very busy with my job and hadn't been taking care of myself.

6. Allie always has snacks. Granola bars? Apple slices in a baggy? She got you. (And this was true before she had kids.)

7. Allie went to Greece in college and she CALLED ME FROM THERE. Two TIMES. # friendship # beforetextingwasathing

8. Allie still makes mix CDs. For that, I will say that I am jealous of her commitment to 2000s nostalgia and I wish I could be like her.

9. We've been through the worst times of life together. The worst. The worst. The worst. But I thank God all the time that we have each other. I don't know who or where we'd be without our friendship! For. Real.

10. She shows up to things. She is supportive as can be. TINY Example: I took an improv class a few years ago and when I came out on stage at the final show, I saw her parked in the front row with our friend Lindsay. What a pleasant surprise. :)
